I never thought I would ever read a book of quotations, but I read my copy cover to cover! The author should be congratulated on his scholarship; he is well-read and insightful. This is an inspirational book for all ages, 8 and up.

A Scout is....Trustworthy, Loyal, Helpful, Friendly, Courteous, Kind, Obedient, Cheerful, Thrifty, Brave, Clean, and Reverent.

If these words mean as much to you as they do to me after going through Scouts, then this book is for you. It has quotes that hold true to each part of the Scout Law, and at least for me reminded me of what it was to be a Scout. Congratulations Mr. Flaherty, you have put together a wonderful book that through the use of quotes from the past and present shows what the Scout Law stands for.
