I guess I'm contributing to the quietness also... I would try my best to make more noise. But really, deep beneath my heart, I'm a very quiet person, or am I?

Chances are, with all your blood gushing here and there within your veins, and your stomach sloshing your food around and sending it through the twists and turns of your guts, you're not as quiet as you think.

I wonder, too, if brain cells make noise when they give orders. And do glands sound like miniature factories, complete with cellular forklifts beeping and and mitochondrial conveyor belts humming, when they manufacture the hormones of life?

It's quite fun to put a stethoscope midway between your heart and stomach... hearing both at once really makes you realise how noisy you are.
