Food for a hot climate

Postby TheCountess on Wed Jan 30, 2008 8:49 am

I have recently moved from a city that is persistently cold, or at least cool, to a city that is lucky to get below 30 degrees. And this heat change has lead to a total loss of appetite. Currently I live on sushi, icecream, fruit salad and juice, which sounds healthy enough but I'm sure isn't really sufficient. Also, I only tend to eat one meal a day.

So is there anyone still lurking on this forum who can suggest a wider range of delicious food that won't make me feel overheated? Or any techniques to escape the chilled-food-only life I am currently leading? I have found eating late at night helps, but being hungry during the day is not so fun.

Help!

What are the best foods for a hot climate?

Tomato basil and mozzarella paninni. On fresh ciabatta breat, only lightly toasted. It has to be good ciabatta though, or it's too heavy. You could have pesto instead of basil if you like.

Pasta is good, it's filling, but feels quite refreshing.

Jacket potato with tuna mayo is always good, no matter what the weather!

I will recommend the opposite. The extreme hellish Mexican hot chili pepper will be most suitable for hot summer or tropical countries. After consumption, you might be sufficiently chilled down by the near death experience of swallowing the whole chili pepper down your throat at once.

There is good reason why people living in tropical climate consume large amount of hot and spicy food. It's not the culture, it's the climate.

I like sandwiches with lettuce in them
I do not mean strange sandwiches like peanut butter and lettuce
just normal like cheese, tomato, and lettuce

I've actually been craving such a sandwich lately since it is starting to get semi warm where I am
