What kind of music do you listen to? Why do you like it?

Good one to start! (good converstaion)

I will take the words of one of my teachers (he was better at saying it than me)

I don't like a certain genre of music, i like it if it's good.

Oh dear, does no-one like music?!

Well I do. The band I listen to most is Queen - great sound, quite a range of styles.

I also like other old bands like The Police, Pink Floyd etc. But new stuff like Coldplay, Travis and the guy who did the song from Donni Darko - Mad World

you have great taste in music. I never heard anything by coldplay though, but pink floyd the police and queen, all some of my favorates. My two favorate bands are The beatles and They Might Be Giants. I am very open minded when it comes to music. I do not like rap. That should give you a pretty good taste of what "kind" of music I like.
Why do I like it? I'm not quite sure.

Hmm...

I also generally tend to like things if they're good rather than based on style, but I'll admit to a preference of rock and pop. And movie soundtracks, though that isn't a particular style, except for the instrumental ones.

My favourites are Delta Goodrem, the Corrs, Queen and anything composed by Howard Shore.

What exactly is meant by the above statement I may never know.

Never.. heard anything by Coldplay...

Have you been visiting another planet

Never mind. They are good. I can't disagree with any music listed so far.

Some to add to the list:
Red Hot Chilli Peppers
Feeder
John Frusciante
Ben Harper
The Killers
The Clash

etc.

Ahh the killers are good.

And i must share Bomadeno's shock at your total lack of coldplay-hearing.

I also love movie soundtracks - i was on a popular music route when i posted earlier. I couldnt say what were my favourites tho, there are so many - James Horner, John Williams, Howard Shaw... etc. (the titanic soundtrack is actually brilliant - it just got shunned coz of the song which does get irritating afer the first 1,000,000 hearings. It suffered from it's own succss... :( )

actualy after i posted that, that night my sister listened to some coldplay and i heard it. They were pretty okay, but I wasnt as enthusiastic about them as you guys seem to be. Maybe i should listen to them some more.
Anyone else here fimillar with They Might be Giants? They don't seem to be that popular....unfortunatly.....

I like a lot of different kinds of music
I listen to classical if I'm in a classical mood
I listen to the lion king sound track if I'm in that sort of mood
most of the songs I like I can't remember the name of the song or the artist

I'm with Pim on this one. I like all kinds of music. I feel sorry for people who never can thrill to the classic beauty of Bach, but also for those who plug their ears to an awesome Metallica guitar riff.

Sometimes the best music is silence~

Tub generally not, as music seems to be everywhere. If for example.. and it may be OCd showing through, you get easily distracted on buses like me. The noise of the bus can sound like music. And at the same tiem try to line up certain things with different poles in the bus... it is ocd isnt it?

You could call your band Suburban Homicide. Or Neighbors at War. Or Cul-de-Sac Killers.
