You mean the spelling? It was spelled differently depending on if it was Greek or Roman.

Is this a popular theory because its mine:
Im pretty sure that just about no one belaives in the roman gods anymore. So it is my theroy that the roman government simply invented the gods as a way to put fear inot the citizens so they would follow the laws. If you think about it that makes alot of sence.
I have had this theory for a while and im no expert on rome, does anyone think i couyld be right? if not why? does any one actualy beleive in the roman gods any more? if so im sorry for this whole theory.

Roman government

The roman government didn't invent the religion. It was a Greek thing. Usually the government people are either too busy or too unimaginative to do such a thing. But they do use the existing religion and twist it to rule over people. Almost all morality is based on religion. That's why it's so useful.

Some greek gods were twisted and deformed Egyptian gods.
They changed them for their own purpose.

Is there any hope?

Back on topic, rome was founded by romulus and remus. There was a whole period i cant remember before them, but it comes back to a guy who escaped the saked city of troy after the whole trojan horse incident. I have written about the trojan war and the illiad elsewhere (cant remember exactly where)

Rome was first a republic, then julius took over and instigated the ceasars (the hairy ones) who ruled as an absolute ruler although the senet still existed. several centuries pass and eventually the roman empire falls to the enormous numbers of enemies it had made by taking their countries over.

Theres more, but i have to go, sorry!
