City Slicker

According to City Slicker, the meaning of life is "to search for the meaning of life". That is the meaning. (explain: the meaning is the journey, not the destination.)

When

There is no way to know the meaning of life, but we can tell if it's achieved on the day when we no longer fear death.

Life like a game

Postby zenbird on Wed Apr 06, 2005 4:55 am

Life is like a game
Like when two kids playing ball
One throws the ball to the other
The other throws it back
Back and forth, forth and back
It all seems meaningless
But the ball has direction,
It's never random
The game is not about gaining or losing the ball
The game is about the traveling of the ball...

Life is like a ship. It sails to the middle of the ocean. And sinks.

Consquence of Life

Postby morgan on Fri Apr 08, 2005 8:45 am

Life has no meaning but consequence.
Everything that didn't happen, didn't happen.
Everything happened, happened for a reason.

It is a cause and effect thing. Like a rock crumbles, it just crumbles. It has no meaning.

Nothing

Postby Bomadeno on Fri Apr 08, 2005 10:03 pm

I believe there is no meaning to life - but we just can't deal with that so our brains create an evasive 'reason' to stop us from collapsing in the street and dying.
But I'd love someone to challenge that, as it isn't the most thrilling philosophy (and challenge it with something substantial!)

Life does have meaning...

Postby zenbird on Sat Apr 09, 2005 7:27 am

OK here is my challenge.

Only things that are random are meaningless. Anything that has intention has meaning. Life has intention. Through our lives, we always do things to achieve certain intention e.g. going to school so we can become the president some day, taking a bath so we can socialize with people in the opposite sex, mowing the grass so can retire in early age... etc etc

The question is whether we have a life long intention or if all our intention are only transitory. Life has meanings, that's for sure, but does life has meaningful meanings, that's another question.

... Mean means avarage.

I need to stop doing to math... XD!

So the meaning of life is... to not die. Basically that's it. To live, not die. No specifics.

Not dead

Postby nil on Wed Apr 13, 2005 6:34 am

Good. Meaning of life means not dead. But if we don't die, we will have too much time thinking about this meaning of life thing. Eventually everyone will go crazy...

Life and pie

Postby nil on Thu Apr 14, 2005 5:13 am

One can never live long enough or eat enough pie to call it satisfied. We are in a perpetual pursue of infinite pies.... One pie led to another, and another. A pie only creates more appetite, it will never satisfy....

Why am I talking about pies now? I'm suppose to talk about turtles.... I'm not a pie theorist.

I ate Sir Pie. He is now part of my stomache.

And why do people eat cows? I'll tell you why. Because they taste like COW!

Cow

Postby nil on Fri Apr 15, 2005 3:19 am

I don't think we should eat cow. Cow never hurts us. Cow only eats grass. We should only eat whatever that eat us, like lion, or tiger or gozilla....

Gozilla?

Postby Bomadeno on Fri Apr 15, 2005 5:41 pm

Wasn't gozilla a really bad search program way back when?

Do you mean Godzilla?

And... Godzilla doesn't exist!

*He is but a pie*

Godzilla

Postby nil on Sat Apr 16, 2005 5:32 am

Godzilla does exist. I have seen it in the Rare Reptile Scientist Journal. That of course is highly confidential.

As for gozilla, it is one of the most delicious delicacy in Peru (that's a South American country by the way). It shapes like hamster but tastes like chicken. Later the name was used to name the Netscape browser because the lead developer loved the food.
