Is the good old days always better than the bad new days? Why yes? Why not?
The good old days are better because you can look on the pain and agony of those days and laugh now, the bad new days are full of pain that isn't so funny right now...
Hmmm. Much wisdom, twin2 has. Make sence, it does.
We tend to block out the bad things and remember the good.
If we are talking to friends about past day-to-day events, we usually remember funny stories about them to share. The past takes on a rosy glow and, pretty soon it seems, the past wasn't so bad.
Happiness lies in conquering one's enemies, in driving them in front of oneself, in taking their property, in savoring their despair, in outraging their wives and daughters. -Genghis Khan (Reign 1206-1227)
That's what I was thinking when I was a kid....
I am very confused. Do the posts appear in any random order? This doesn't make sense! I miss the good old days when the only time figuring out conversations was this bad was in the case of sheets of notepaper that you had a scrawled conversation on with a friend in the middle of Biology and then went back to later and was like Wha because at the time you could see each other write therefore weren't particularly worried about placing your comments logically under the previous one and most writing tended to be diagonal anyway.
The newest comment appears on the top (when you start a new comment). However, when you click "reply" upon a comment, it means you are commenting an old comment, so it will appear under the comment you replied upon.
It's easier to read when new comments appears on the top. But I also think it might confuse new users. So I have changed the order, now the newest comment will appear on the bottom. It will just look like the other forum and the comments are easier to follow for new users.
So the simple rules are: Reply to post, your comment will start a new comment topic. Reply to comment, your comment will appear under the replied comment (like a thread of conversation).
I hope the new display order will cause less confusion.
All the post appears in the front page (except forum topics). With the newest one always on the top.
The new posts can also be found under the contents navigation menu (depends on which category you picked).
It is confusing but somehow everything seems to fall into place...
On the Home page things are posted up in oder of their appearance, with the youngest posts at the top. This section shows the "parents" of the comments, which are listed in ascending youth (??), at the left hand side.
Just hang in there. If I can work it out, then anybody can - and I'm the least computer-literate of anyone here. Just plod on and it suddenly falls into place.
I can't even believe I'm actually explaining something, I can't believe I've worked it out!!! I know how it works!!
Scurries away, thinking joyful thoughts!
All this will form part of your "Good Old Days" tapestry when you sit back and reminisce with your children on how you slew a fearsome ink-sucking hamster who lived in a hat!
Chortle, chortle!
