I entered the school building on the first day

expecting something to be just a little different

after all I'm a senior now

but I found that it was the same humdrum thing

sure there are exciting things about school

but the routine is the same and there is no feeling of reaching a critical point in my life

I just feel like I'm going to school once again

as I have for the last 12 years

so what makes it different

well I won't be coming back next year

my friends that are only juniors or sophmores will stay while I leave and then we won't see each other for a long time if ever again

I might visit in the spring or in the winter but who can be sure

I really want to become better friends with some people but don't know how

how does one become better friends with someone they've known for at least 5 years

how is it that after five years I don't know more about them

is it that I'm antisocial in many ways and don't hardly talk of more than nothing
