To load avatar,

login
select "my account"
select the "edit" tab
Use "Upload Picture" to upload your avatar (limit to 85x85 30kb)

I would say check two things:
1) size of picture (<30kb)
2) picture width & height <=85 pixels x 85 pixels
so in a word, smaller pictures...

Thanks for replying! I did choose a tiny icon about the size of your own (which is very cute by the way).

The little flashing line of the cursor won't even appear in the space where you put the address for the avatar, even though I've clicked onto the space and it is highlighted...???

I know I'm doing something wrong but don't know what it is yet. I'm probably not enabling something but haven't figured out what??????

You would need to click on the "browse" button.

It will upload a picture you choose from your computer.

I don't think you can type a url into the textbox.
