Rationality of Iraq War

The intention for the war on Iraq was good, or at least pragmatically good.

In the pragmatic sense, US invade Iraq. US companies get control of the oil reserve, US people get cheaper oil and better economy. The Iraqis get rid of their hated tyrant, with a removal of sanctions, better economy, a pretty good economic assistant plan and a quasi democracy.

It's a win - win - win solution... assuming of course the Iraqis will cooperate.

Since the Iraqis are not "cooperating", everyone lose. The oil production got sabotaged. People got killed (more than when there was a tyrant), economy wasted, democracy broken. It became a lose lose lose situation. And American tax payers paid a lot of tax money and human lives, without even getting any oil benefits... So it's all the fault of the "non-cooperating" Iraqis.

Sure.

The problem is the US government expect they would be greeted with flowers not bullets. How rational is that? It's like venturing into a lion cage and expect the lion to kiss you instead of eat you.

Pull out from Iraq

So much I disagreed with the war, I'm not too supportive of the pull out. The biggest problem for Iraq war is you can't pull out easily. Pulling out doesn't fix the problem. You break it, you fix it. It's irresponsible just to leave the broken pieces on the floor.

But will it do any good? It's hard to say. I can't give a simple yes and no answer.
