[Insanity test]

I've returned!

I have been abscent for coming on 6 months now. This was accidental as I got out of the habit over the christmas break and then was constantly distracted.

I cannot gaurentee that my return will be for long as summer break is forthcoming, ive moved house and don't know if we have the internet yet! but hey, I thought Id drop on by and say a big hi there to all you crazy hatters!

I do! I do! I do! I do! I remember you!! I was wondering when you would come back. A lot has gone on since you left. Band Trip, end of the year exams, band concerts, my trip to the oregon capital for girls' state. Okay so no one knows about girls' state yet, but they will, later.

Ahh thats a relief!

I was afraid I might have absented for too long there.

So, what Is a girls' state (apart from a decidedly feminist governmental plan)?

Girls' State is a camp for junior girls (duh!) that teaches about the government of our state and nation. It's not all lectures and boring notes-infact, I didn't take any notes at all. I did learn about how legislator works and how bills are passed.
I was in the House of Represenatives for my "county" (Cooper County all the way! Coop! Coop!:clap:) and saw girls from my "county" and others present bills of their writing. Of the 30-some bills I saw come through, 7 of them passed up to our Girls' State Govener. She passed 4 of those, which will go up to the Oregon govener. It was really cool to watch the work of my friends accomplish something. I didn't present any but I argued on quite a few of them, especially the education ones.
It was great fun and I want to go next year as a Junior counseler, JC.

Wow, so a summer camp where you can effect state policy? Cool!
Argue for special extra holiday for everyone's birthday. I'm sure it can be done!

It's already over for the year, but maybe next year if I go back for staff. I'll get one of the citizens under me to sponser it.
